To watch the webinar, access the ABES channel on YouTube. 'With a significant investment of R$ 36 million, this public notice is a unique chance for innovators and visionaries like you to make a difference and help transform the public sector, making it more efficient and effective through artificial intelligence”, highlights Newton. The resources will be released in the economic support modality of economic subsidy, which "consists in the application of non-refundable public resources (which do not need to be returned) directly in companies, through which Finep shares with them the costs and risks inherent to the activities of innovation.
The webinar held in partnership with ABES was the first in a series of online meetings. From 09/12 to 09/15, Finep will hold new chats in partnership with entities that seek solutions to present the needs and goals of each one, contributing to make the startups' proposals more assertive. check the calendar in this post on Finep's Instagram or go directly to application form page.
This ABES online event also had the participation of Philipe Moura Vice President and Chief Regulatory Officer of ABRIA; Loren Spíndola, Leader of the ABES Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence WGs and Public Policy Lead at Microsoft; Eduardo Paranhos, Leader of the ABES Artificial Intelligence WG and founding partner of EPG Advogados; and Paulo Milliet Roqu, President of ABES.
The edict
Proposals must be submitted by startups that meet the requirements set out in the announcement and the best projects presented for each technological challenge will be supported. Each company may submit up to two proposals, as long as they are in different Technological Challenges. The economic subsidy resources must be applied in technological risk projects whose activities are comprised between the technological maturity levels (TRLs) 3 to 8, and the projects must necessarily foresee the achievement of TRL 8 (qualified and finalized system).
Artificial Intelligence is defined as the technology that simulates, through computational algorithms, advanced mechanisms of cognition and decision support based on large volumes of information. Its operation is based on other technologies, such as machine learning, which consists of recognizing patterns from the analysis of large data sets, allowing the construction of results autonomously. In case of doubts and guidance on the public notice, Finep requests that an email be sent to the DRIN Team: drin@finep.gov.br. The deadline for submission of proposals is up to 28/09/2023.
