The hybrid model adopted by NTT DATA enabled jobs in all regions of the country

Contrary to the big techs, which recently announced the cut of more than 50 thousand jobs in the world, companies focused on other branches of the technological sector foresee solid growth in Brazil and started the year with many hirings. We are talking about NTT DATA, one of the largest providers of technological solutions, which has just conquered, in April 2023, the mark of 1,000 contracted professionals.

The number was reached in the midst of yet another significant hiring period that took place in the first months of the year. The opportunities generated were much higher than those of the previous period and consolidated a continuous process of expansion of the company. Jobs range from junior to senior positions. The hybrid model adopted by the company also made it possible for all Brazilian regions to have at least one NTT DATA Business Solutions Brasil professional operating in 18 states.

When highlighting the brand achieved, People Director Rosely Maximiano stated that this is an important step towards consolidating the employer brand. The company is among the best to work for in the IT sector. “This is the result of the choices we made about how we wanted to act in People Management. On this path, we are faced with many challenges related to competition in other payment formats, but they were overcome by the care we take with our people. We achieve growth organically by seeking, daily and jointly, leaders and other employees to deliver what our customers expect. Gradually we became a reference company and desired by professionals in line with our values”, he analyzes. The next challenge, according to Rosely, is to keep growing now at a faster pace and with the expectation of doubling in 3 years.

The scenario will come true, according to the company's CEO, Ricardo Fachin, mainly because the Brazilian IT market is extremely promising. “In Brazil, the IT market is growing faster than the rest of the world. In 2022 we saw close to twice the global growth.” The explanation for this, according to the CEO, lies in the level of technological maturity of the companies, which still lags behind compared to other countries, especially the more developed ones.

With this, NTT DATA plans actions that will expand the number of jobs available. This is due to an increase in the volume of customers, solutions presented to the market, expansion through acquisitions and mergers, in addition to the new business possibilities brought about by the consolidation of the global brand. In Brazil, at least one new acquisition will be completed in 2023 and another is under negotiation, shares that will move approximately 50 million dollars in the first half of 2023.

The basis of conquest

The milestone of one thousand professionals is an achievement directly linked to the entrepreneurial spirit of top management and the decision consolidated in 2019, when FH, then one of the largest Brazilian SAP consulting companies, officially became part of the NTT DATA group. The change made it possible to compete with larger companies for clients that were also larger throughout Brazil, ranging from medium-sized companies to the largest SAP technology contracts in the country.

Currently, more than 70% of the positions are occupied by professionals with technical training in the various areas of technology and support. They are the ones who act directly on customer demands. Other 15%s are at the forefront of leadership positions, from technical lead to C-Level. The staff is also made up of another 10% of employees in administrative support positions and 4% of specialists, responsible for seeking the best knowledge management and transferring it to the project teams.

Diversity in the field of technology

Rosely points out that a challenge for technology companies is to increase the diversity and inclusion of minority groups in positions core business. At NTT DATA, blind selection was implemented in some processes for validation of the method and proved to be quite effective. In it, the focus is on evaluating the person's history, their career experiences, the training and skills that will be available, leaving out items such as gender, age, place of graduation, sexual identity and even place of residence.

The mechanism was adopted at NTT DATA approximately six months ago, but has already contributed to the company reaching the global goal of having 30% women among its employees. “We have understood for a long time that plurality contributes to the full development of our businesses, to innovate we need to have minds and hearts open to everyone who wants and can contribute”, summarizes Rosely Maximiano.
