With more than 100 million users, ChatGPT is capable of inventing recipes, creating academic texts, suggesting gifts, writing emails and planning, in addition to several other functions that the novelty can perform in seconds.

Created based on Artificial Intelligence (AI), the new chatbot gathers information collected by algorithms and creates answers to questions asked online by users. The novelty shocked the world, as it proved capable of carrying out professional activities in a similar way to humans, such as writing an article or setting up a plan, using natural language.

Although ChatGPT was surprising due to its enormous capacity, the novelty reignited an old discussion about the limits of technology and how far the digital world is healthy and beneficial for humanity. As AI behaves similarly to a human brain, the debate has turned to the question: will machines be able to replace human jobs in the future?

When talking about technology, there are always two sides of the coin and, as in all cases, there are advantages and disadvantages to ChatGPT. Due to its capacity to gather information instantly, the tool can be an ally of the human being in the work environment, helping to make more basic tasks more agile.

The chat can offer quick answers to simple questions, it allows the creation of programming codes and even the execution of reports and planning. In this sense, with the help of technology, it is possible to optimize research time in the work environment or even advance some simpler tasks, in addition to facilitating the initial production of projects. For example, it is possible that the tool formulates a first idea for an advertising campaign and then the professional in the area develops this concept.

But, amid the benefits, we enter again the philosophical discussion that permeates the debate about how technology can be an ally or a threat to human beings. It is possible to state that society can benefit from technological innovations, we can mention, for example, the Industrial Revolution, which was one of the greatest advents in history and gave human beings the opportunity to use technology as an impetus for their personal, intellectual development. and professional. Its positive effects are still felt today, as is the case with the creation of locomotives and railroads, which continue to be used and improved. In this sense, we can say that the innovations developed at that time were beneficial to human beings in general.

So, when analyzing the solutions that are emerging in the current scenario, it is necessary to pay attention to their effects, whether they will be harmful or benign to society, and make a balance. Therefore, it is important to observe Artificial Intelligence in order to be able to discern to what extent this tool is acting as an ally of society or as something that could threaten human capacity.

However, analyzing this scenario in a deeper way, it is already possible to point out some gaps in AI capabilities, because so far these tools do not have certain exclusively human skills, such as critical thinking, empathy or feelings. Today, you don't see the possibility of a robot creating, for example, the strategic planning of a company.

In addition, there is a risk in blindly trusting technologies. Even when asking ChatGPT if it is reliable, it recognizes its passiveness to make mistakes and recommends checking the information passed on. It is also worth mentioning that, in a scenario in which human beings depend 100% on technology, their cognitive functions could be compromised. If a robot is always available to solve your problems, the individual may lose the ability to deal with complex situations alone. In this sense, the capabilities of human beings, such as analytical, writing and communication skills, can be affected by lack of practice.

Therefore, in view of the positive and negative points, the basis for living in harmony with technologies, in general, is to find a balance point, knowing how to use its qualities, but without becoming dependent. If the human being does not allow tools like ChatGPT to take away his ability to think, its use will be beneficial. So, to paraphrase our newest contributor's response “it's important to find a healthy balance between technology and human interaction”.
