Embrapii opens call for promotion of new products and processes involving small and medium-sized Canadian companies

The Brazilian Company for Industrial Research and Innovation (Embrapii) and the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) open a call to unite small and medium-sized Canadian companies and Brazilian industry in innovation projects. The proposal is to integrate knowledge in technologies with market potential in the areas of health, forest bioeconomy, mining, agribusiness and aerospace.

“International cooperation is a tool that Embrapii has to encourage innovative projects in strategic areas. The interaction between companies across borders enhances the sharing of knowledge and the development of technological solutions and new products on a global scale”, highlights the interim president of Embrapii, Igor Nazareth.

To participate in the selection, companies from both countries must form a consortium and submit a joint proposal, preferably involving technologies involving IoT, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing or bioeconomy. The Brazilian side also needs to negotiate the project with an Embrapii Unit so that the Canadian company can submit the final proposal for evaluation by the NRC.

Those selected will receive financial support and technical support for the development of the solution. If necessary, interested companies will be supported to identify project partners in both countries. Applications are open until June 13th and details on the process of preparing and submitting proposals can be accessed at https://embrapii.org.br/cooperacao-internacional/chamada-canada-2023/

The call is the result of the international cooperation agreement signed between Embrapii and NCR. The model foresees that companies and research institutions are financed by their respective countries, according to the rules of each organization. The Brazilian company will have access to Embrapii's support modalities, as long as it meets the prerequisites.
