Among the novelties are the launch of Blockbit Cloud Sandbox, virtual domain and Next-Generation VPN Client, which allows strengthening security even in remote connections

THE Blockbit, a Brazilian company specializing in the cybersecurity market, announces the update of its global cybersecurity platform, with new advanced resources for identifying, mitigating and preventing threats. THE Blockbit Platform 2.3 has new solutions to optimize the routine of users and, mainly, to maximize the digital protection of data in local networks and in the Cloud.

Among the novelties, highlight for the Blockbit Cloud Sandbox, a new generation tool that analyzes all types of records and programs in an automated way, in search of suspicious or malicious points – even the newest ones. Developed by specialists from Blockbit Labs, Blockbit's high-performance laboratory, Blockbit Cloud Sandbox combines concepts such as Big Data and Machine Learning (ML – from Machine Learning, in English) to test and classify threats broadly, even before these agents reach users' networks. Such measures are important to accompany the progressive sophistication of malware and successfully detect them, adding a layer of protection against threats beyond the perimeter of the environment.

Lucas Pereira, Product Director at Blockbit

“Our main goal is always to increase user security, preventing risks and threats from even reaching network points. In this sense, the highlight of the new version of Blockbit Platform is the intelligence we use to attack, defend and prevent threats. We brought improved versions of our VPN features, important news to our New Generation Firewall and, we reiterate, our commitment to mitigate vulnerabilities that could be exploited by cybercriminals”, says Lucas Pereira, Director of Products at Blockbit. “We understand that evolution must be constant and uninterrupted, which is why collaboration to innovate is part of our DNA. The Blockbit Platform updates demonstrate the efforts to always offer the best resources to combat threats to the integrity of the organizations' data”.

The executive also highlights the launch of the Next Generation VPN Client, VPN AnyWhere / Anytime, which reinforces the security of its virtual private networks, the VPNs (from Virtual Private Network, in English). The novelty allows users to access their secure networks from the connection of any type of network protocol (TCP, UDP, ICMP and/or DNS), and always with support for different languages.

“Now, when the user turns on the computer, he already establishes the connection to the VPN transparently and automatically, guaranteeing security in all accesses. This means users no longer need to launch and toggle the VPN on to get protection. That is, the VPN works directly, even in the most different types of connections. This is a great differentiator”, says Pereira.

With a complete approach to digital security, the update of Blockbit's cybersecurity platform also includes the presentation of a new Virtual Domain (VDOM) feature, which enables the creation of one or more virtual firewalls, with separate configurations for routing and for VPN services. The novelty brings benefits such as continuous security, physical space and energy savings, improved configuration of transparent mode and more flexible MSSP (Managed Security Services Providers) configurations.

Another novelty is that the solution now allows Blockbit's physical appliance to be divided into several virtual firewalls. Thus, it can be used in environments where hardware implementation is difficult or impossible, such as Public and Private Cloud-based environments; software-defined networks (SDN) and software-defined wide area networks (SD-WAN).

The update also brought other important innovations, such as verification and validation of firewall policies; allow the creation, editing and import of signatures to the IPS in Snort format; recurring scheduling of report generation; IPSEC VPN: Google Cloud; Blockbit to Cisco IPSec VPN integration with Xauth authentication, among many other innovations.

“Other novelties are the dynamic objects sent by Blockbit Labs to the client. Thus, IP addresses, network services or websites are shared to facilitate user configuration. In this way, for example, it is possible to release WhatsApp individually, if there are defined restrictions. It's easier to create an exception rule. Previously, the client had to fetch lists of network addresses from the Internet to do this. Blockbit sends this ready-made information and updates these objects with the information daily”, adds Pereira.
