Companies do not reevaluate disaster recovery plans and ransomware defense as they go that the remote work expands
Large organizations face difficulties in meeting the legal requirements of each country when using cloud computing providers
Arcserve announced the results of an independent* global survey of leading organizations. The study found that 62% of respondents are not reassessing and updating their disaster recovery and ransomware defense plans as their company's workforce moves to a remote operating model, with significantly increased device usage. furniture. As criminals focus more of their attacks on remote workers, it's imperative that organizations regularly assess changes to their work and IT environments, bolster defenses against ransomware, and update disaster recovery plans accordingly.
Additional information from the survey highlights the lack of awareness of the need for an end-to-end data protection plan. Only 41% of respondents responded that edge and remote site data protection is extremely important to their data recovery solution. Cybercriminals are continually looking for different ways to infiltrate a company. Thus, a data backup and disaster recovery strategy is essential to ensure that all parts of an organization remain operational even after a ransomware attack.
The survey also revealed that 55% of respondents found it difficult when using cloud providers to ensure compliance with legislation. As the adoption of cloud computing grows and countries' privacy and property laws become more restrictive and complex, global organizations will struggle to manage their data across borders.
For Florian Malecki, Executive Vice President of Marketing at Arcserve, “Our research revealed significant vulnerability gaps in large organizations' data protection vision and approach as they standardize on a hybrid workforce strategy. Ransomware attacks continue to significantly disrupt business operations, and this problem is not going away anytime soon. It is critical that companies continually review and update their disaster recovery plans and incorporate data backup and recovery solutions and immutable storage as the foundation of their data resiliency plan.”
