Sector is heated and positions such as developer is one of the professions on the rise, according to consultancy
The technology market arrives heated up for 2023, and front-end developers, for example, will be the professionals most sought after by companies, according to a survey by Robert Half, a consultancy in recruitment and selection. However, the same study shows that nearly 70% of recruiters believe that finding sufficiently qualified professionals will be more challenging.
“The market is adjusting and slowly returning to a balanced pace after the changes of the last two years. Even so, there is plenty of room to help professionals who are migrating between areas to build their projects and leverage their careers”, comments Joel Backschat, CIO of the FCamara Group, a technology and innovation ecosystem that leverages the future of business by integrating strategic vision with intelligent execution , and founder of the Orange Juice community. He points out that the IT sector is one of the most sought after at the time of migration. “Regardless of whether the person decides to stay in the area or not, it always ends up being an enriching experience”, he says.
Companies are digitalizing faster and having experiences in the curriculum that involve the technology area becomes a differentiator. Training programs, for example, contribute to these opportunities. “They help people not only to get their first job in the area, but also show what to study, which behavioral factors are differential and open the door to the company's day-to-day. Participating in these initiatives helps to understand how companies work and shortens the time to enter this desired market”, explains the CIO.
Thinking about it, the FCamara Group executive points out 3 tips for those who want to start a career in the IT area. Check out:
1.Be flexible
Technology environments are surrounded by innovation. You have to be open minded to different scenarios and opinions. “Since we go through several moments in which it is necessary to create something from scratch, innovate and think outside the box, we cannot have a closed view of different points of view. It is important to make it clear when recruiting that you are open to opposing opinions”, explains the CIO.
2.Invest in your future
New technologies come and go every day, but you have to be up to date and learn to surf the waves, whatever they may be. “Consistent study is a real need in the technology world. It is very important to separate a healthy time to always be updated. Try to dedicate one day of the week to focus on studies and learn about what's new in the sector”, says Joel.
3.You don't work alone
Teams are more integrated than ever and knowing how to work as a team is a key part of hiring. “Everyone who works in IT needs to have very active communication. The idea that a developer has to work away from everything and everyone is a thing of the past. The challenges IT needs to solve these days are too big for just one person to handle, the cognitive load is high and demands that it be shared. So, if you know how to present in the interview that you know how to work together with colleagues, and of course, put this into practice on a daily basis, you will definitely have satisfactory results”, concludes Backschat.
