Pixeon, a healthcare business management systems company, has just launched a new web viewer for its Aurora PACs system. It is an image distribution tool to complement the existing Pixeon Arya, which facilitates access to images of an exam inside and outside hospitals, clinics or diagnostic centers, improving service and reducing costs.

“We are happy to bring to the market another solution that will facilitate the daily lives of teams and improve diagnostics”, says Richerland Medeiros, director of products and technology at Pixeon. According to him, the novelty benefits not only the multidisciplinary teams of an institution – including those who work in the offices and surgical centers –, but also the requesting physicians who can access and view the images wherever they are.

“Through a link, doctors and patients can access the images of an exam regardless of where they are”, explains the executive.

The new viewer was created to work with the PACS Aurora, which has resources for viewing, interpreting, storing and distributing images, and where it is possible to check the patients' history, produce reports with voice recognition and, even, have more agility. to analyze the images, using integrated mobile technology. All designed to improve diagnostic services and still reduce costs, with fewer impressions and greater integration between areas.

The purpose of PACS (Image Archiving and Communication System) – in English, Picture Archiving and Communication System – is to store images and facilitate communication between the sectors of a diagnostic center. That is, to facilitate the workflow – from the acquisition of the exam, the process of reporting and monitoring, to its diagnosis – increasing productivity and safety, for professionals and patients.

“The PACS system also makes it possible to create visualization stages of the same exam, applying filters, windows and other manipulation tools. Everything can be accessed and reported remotely”, concludes Medeiros.
