Unidas, the second largest car rental company in Brazil and leader in fleet rental for companies, improved its productivity by analyzing data extracted from SAP using the Qlik Sense connector and the SAP Connector Qlik technology. The project, focused on capturing more value from your SAP system and bringing faster and more flexible extractions, was implemented in the second half of 2021 by Unidas and Nordica, a consulting and software distribution company that designs and implements Business Intelligence, Advanced Analytics, Planning and Performance Management, and decreased the time spent extracting and preparing data by more than 93%. In order to increase its efficiency, Unidas extracted data from its SAP/ECC ERP to the Business Intelligence (BI) Qlik Sense, generating visible gains for the business areas.

Unidas is one of the biggest players in the car rental and resale sector in Brazil. The mining company has been in the market since 1985 and had a record profit of R$ 1 billion in 2021, an increase of 153%, generating consolidated net revenue of R$ 6.3 billion, an increase of 14.1% over 2020. Currently, the Company has about of 5,100 employees and a fleet of over 200,000 vehicles. According to Carolina Hoffmann, General Manager of Financial Planning, the Business Intelligence area has grown and received significant investments to modernize its technological platform and deliver more value to the Company.
“United's centralized Business Intelligence area is responsible for all the Company's corporate management information and has more than 200 panels on Qlik, from where executives and their teams monitor their indicators and can assess the performance of our business day by day. We have invested heavily in new technologies, governance and security, in addition to training employees in the use of the platform and data”, says Carolina.

In addition to technology, the Business Intelligence and HR areas structured the “AtuAção” program with around 450 people involved at a leadership level with training on data fluency, data analysis, in addition to the benefits of exploring market solutions and tools. The entire process goes through training and awareness in order to reinforce the pillars of the culture Data Driven, democratizing the use of data and correlating information from storytelling techniques with data, showing how everyone can benefit from an analytical culture properly and with a market-leading tool.
“We did a 'hands on' process, where people could experience this new world through a mini hackaton, engaging the team to learn about the data, promoting an acculturation with the right to a certificate. We feel the benefits in people's work in our routine and many are encouraged to make more analytical demands, subsidizing the business strategy with a very high level of autonomy and automation and spending less time extracting and consolidating data”, evaluates Priscila.
