  • Virtual worlds open up learning opportunities and build bridges between people, offering future generations the opportunity to discover the achievements of the past and map the way to a better future.

THE Dassault Systems announces the next step of its campaign”The Only Progress is Human” with the realization of “Living Heritage”, student program that allows current and future generations to experience six of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, reliving how these places may have existed in the past, while young people are able to create skills to innovate in a more sustainable world.

For “Living Heritage”, 32 students from six teams from Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands and the United States used Dassault Systèmes' 3DEXPERIENCE platform to virtually recreate the Coliseum, you Hanging Gardens of Babylon, The Konark Sun TemplePompeii, The Porta Nigra it's the Shuri Castle.

Led by mentors from Dassault Systèmes and supported by tools from 3DEXPERIENCE Edu – whose programs help seven million students a year build in-demand industry skills on Dassault Systèmes solutions – the teams quickly adopted the same integrated modeling, simulation, intelligence of information and collaboration used by the global industry to create scientifically accurate Virtual Twins, enriched with data from the locations, in an experience that opens a new understanding of humanity.

The Virtual Twins represent both the visible and the invisible, revealing insights the design of each structure, what has been partially lost, totally lost or damaged over time, how this design achievement has impacted history and how it can influence future designs. Empowered with new technical knowledge and know-how acquired during the program, students can apply their skills as soon as they enter the job market, while Virtual Twins can be used by others to teach, study and learn.
