The entity has the complete suite of Trend Micro solutions and was the first company in Brazil to acquire Vision One XDR through the credit system

Trend Micro Brasil, a world leader in cybersecurity solutions, was the company chosen by the Federation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism of Minas Gerais (Fecomércio MG), to protect its information security and cybersecurity environment.

The entity has been a Trend Micro customer for about 13 years, and the first tools acquired were the OfficeScan antivirus and IMSS with ScanMail for the messaging service. However, for a brief period, the partnership was suspended and a new company was hired, which caused internal problems and forced the board to take a step back. “We didn't have a good experience with the new service hired at the time. With that, we decided to come back with all Trend Micro solutions shortly after, which solved our problems and brought greater security to our environment”, explains Dénis Júnio Zeferino, Information Security Supervisor, Infrastructure and Support and Data Protection Officer from Fecomércio – MG.

The support to Fecomércio MG's IT team, during the implementation of the tools, was carried out by LDC Solutions, a Trend Micro partner company, which is also present with the entity to help solve day-to-day problems.

Currently, Fecomércio MG has the complete suite, with the most explored tools being the Apex One™ as a Service, which offers advanced, automated threat detection and response capabilities; The Apex Central™ in the cloud, for centralized security management; Email Security, which automatically blocks messages sent from email addresses or domains added to the blocked list; Mobile Security, for the security of mobile devices and Deep Security™, a robust solution capable of preventing intrusions by exploiting vulnerabilities. “All these solutions provide, in addition to better performance in responding to IS incidents, a robust and secure environment within Fecomércio MG”, comments Cesar Candido, Sales Director at Trend Micro.

Dénis Júnio Zeferino reveals that Fecomércio MG was the first company in Brazil to acquire the platform Vision One™ by the credit system. “Apex has given us end-to-end visibility across the entire IT security environment, with a centralized console, helping to significantly improve response times. Implementing Vision One has made it easier to manage multiple alerts by correlating events and providing more confidence in what is happening in our environment, thus facilitating decision-making and incident response,” he says.

The Information Security supervisor at Fecomércio MG also explains that he envisions a more effective use of existing resources within the solutions already applied, to improve the visibility of their IT environment, allowing them to be more proactive than reactive. “Shortly after the new Trend Micro solutions were made available on the market, we started testing. We seek constant evolution together with Trend Micro”, he emphasizes.
Fecomércio MG is an entity with more than 83 years of experience in the 853 municipalities of Minas Gerais, composed of its social arms Sesc and Senac, working in synergy with the Confederation of Commerce of Goods Services and Tourism (CNC), in addition to business unions. Altogether, it has 580,000 mining companies in its base, with 44 affiliated unions and 11 affiliates. Its main role is to defend the interests of entrepreneurs in the public and private spheres.
