Through public bidding, the company implemented the first voting system integrated with biometrics in Brazil
Seal Telecom, a multinational solutions integrator Convergint Company, announced the implementation of audio and video solutions at the Municipality of Goiânia. Through public bidding, Seal Telecom was responsible for the modernization of several environments, including the plenary, the auditoriums and all the meeting rooms in the building. Among the technologies installed is the first voting system integrated with biometrics in Brazil.
In the plenary, a video wall, high-definition sound system, robotic cameras were installed to monitor councilors' pronouncements and the voting system fully integrated with biometrics. With the challenge of adding fingerprint reading to the voting system, Seal Telecom developed within its own softwarehouse, the Creative Office, a customized integration project. The new voting system generates reports with the quorum count, the time used by each party and the result of the vote, in addition to allowing the president of the Chamber to access data in real time to control all meetings.
“We had a very archaic voting system. With this new model, we have total control and much more security. The councilor can only access the plenary system if he has his personal card and his biometrics, that is, a two-step verification that guarantees the integrity of the meetings and votes”, says Marco Antônio Ribeiro Gomes, Head of the Audio and Video of the Municipality of Goiânia.
In the presidency's meeting rooms, as well as in the auditoriums, projectors, videoconferencing terminals and a streaming of videos, all manageable through a tablet. In the meeting room, where the inquiry commissions are held, for example, Seal Telecom also installed a video wall and interactive screen, allowing meetings held in this environment to be broadcast over the internet or the local network.
“With modern and fully integrated environments, the project has the latest in Audio, Video and Automation solutions to meet the expectations and needs of the City Council. As always, Seal Telecom used all its expertise to provide the best customer experience”, highlights Sheila Lins, Account Manager at Seal Telecom.
