Project kicks off first wave of process transformation using smarter workflows

IBM and the WEG Group announce a strategic collaboration to improve the Brazilian multinational's operational efficiency and create a new experience for its employees, customers and suppliers.

IBM Consulting was one of the partners that supported WEG in the design and implementation of the Global Shared Services Center, which will integrate the processes of the Controllership, Finance and IT areas of the company, which currently operates in 36 countries and earned R$ 7, 5 billion in 2020.

“We embraced this mission together with WEG to generate a more agile and effective experience for employees and customers with the implementation of the Center, in addition to preparing the company for the transformation of processes through intelligent workflows. We thus create the foundation for a flexible and scalable operating model that will support your business expansion.” says Marco Kalil, Head of IBM Consulting in Brazil.

Through the Global Service Center, WEG seeks excellence and worldwide standardization of its processes. The company started the implementation in Brazil and plans to replicate it in the United States, Europe and Asia in the next two years.

Our main objective is to offer an environment conducive to the organic growth of the business, at the same speed that the Company grows, and our platform, called WEG Business Services, will bring together various activities in one place, synchronizing internal processes, improving user experience and ensuring high overall performance of the services”, emphasizes Marcio Campos, Manager of WEG's Global Service Center.

With the help of a senior team from WEG and IBM Consulting, the Company made the transition to the new Center two months earlier than planned with the support of Cobee, a cognitive tool that runs on the IBM Cloud and reduced the time and cost of content creation up to 80%. Training and manuals were integrated into service catalogs and workflows by the Service Now platform, which also operates in the cloud in partnership with IBM.

in 2020 IBM had already collaborated with WEG to implement a new infrastructure which has already allowed the modernization of the company's applications and their integration with other hybrid cloud environments.
