ABES' mission is to always be by the side of its members and of Brazilian society, working with the purpose of contributing to the construction of a more digital and less unequal Brazil, in which information technology plays a fundamental role in democratization knowledge and the creation of new opportunities for all, in an equal and inclusive way.
How to turn this purpose into reality? Dialoguing and collaborating so that the country has a more ethical, dynamic, innovative, sustainable and competitive business environment.
For over 35 years, ABES has supported its members through a wide range of services: government relations activities, legal consultancy, events, committees and working groups, strategic partnerships, initiatives focused on ESG, among other actions, leading always taking into account local and global structural and conjectural challenges.
The year was marked by ABES's intense engagement in multi-sector manifestos with requests for adjustments to the Legal Framework for Startups, the General Data Protection Law, the National Data Protection Authority and the Tax Reform. The participation in the mobilization focused on the extension of the Folha's Exemption, which was approved until 2023 in Congress and sent for presidential approval, should also be highlighted.
In terms of the current situation, we have been asking ourselves what the post-pandemic world will be like. We don `t know yet. Profound changes are still taking place, but we recognize that the digitization of economic sectors continues to expand, providing many opportunities for software companies, which are generating jobs, income and improving Brazilian competitiveness. Therefore, we prefer to believe and work to produce a better future!
Despite all the challenges, it is with great joy and satisfaction that we share with you some highlights and great results of our work in 2021:
- Victory in the STF in the judgment that defined the incidence of ISS in software licensing
- 28 virtual events, +2,200 participants
- 9 hours of ABES CONFERENCE, + 20 national and international experts and + 700 participants
- 300 downloads of the Innovation Fostering Guide
- + 1300 issued certificates
- 3 classes of the LGPD course, 65 participants
- 94 meetings of committees and WGs, 6 new committees and WGs created in the year and + 2000 participants
- 6 new partners for the ABES Startup Internship Program
- +4100 companies that responded to the LGPD Adequacy Diagnosis
- 4 groups of the One Ethical Company on Compliance Training, + 100 companies sent employees for training, + 220 certified participants, 13 companies certified in the One Ethical Company Program
- + 650 news and + 90 articles published on the portal
- 20 tons of equipment donated to Mobilization for the Reduction of Inequality, Reduction of the emission of 38 tons of greenhouse gases and +13,000 people benefited in sociodigital projects
- Launch of the Sustainability Diagnosis and creation of the LGPD Business Forum
