Technology course university students from all over the world can subscribe by December 14th
VTEX, the digital commerce platform for large companies and retailers, a leader in accelerating the transformation of commerce in Latin America and now expanding globally, is now open for registration for the next class of the Winter Internship Program for Software Engineers. University students of technology courses (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering and Information Systems), from anywhere in the world, who speak Portuguese or English, without the need for fluency, can enroll in the program, which will last for three months. Registration is open until December 14, in this link .
“During the Internship Program, students get to know and experience VTEX's culture, by participating in the software development process with the best professionals in the market. For three months, selected university students are responsible for projects, which aim to optimize internal processes and improve the shopping and sales experience for thousands of consumers around the world”, explains Mariana Gomes, leader of the Internship Program for Engineers VTEX Software.
Throughout the program, university students are challenged to build and maintain a solution to a specific problem identified by the VTEX team, which can be used on a large scale by more than 2,500 online stores served by the company in 32 countries. The performance may be in person or remotely, respecting the health guidelines related to the pandemic in each location.
Sponsorship increases women's participation in the program
Since 2020, VTEX has offered all those who identify with the female gender the possibility of a sponsorship session during the selection process of the Internship Program for Software Engineers. The initiative consists of appointing a VTEX software engineer to talk to the selected ones and make them comfortable to demonstrate their knowledge and skills before the technical interview, a step always accompanied by at least one engineer from the Company.
“This meeting helps the students to create genuine gender references with the women who work at VTEX. Through these conversations and exchanges of experiences, our goal is to show candidates that VTEX provides an environment that respects and welcomes each person's way of being, and that they are being evaluated by a team that already sees them as technology professionals , regardless of the result of the challenge”, says Mariana Gomes.
Some results from the 2022 edition of the Summer Internship Program for Software Engineers, which is scheduled to start in December this year, prove the importance of sponsorship, which had 100% adhesion of candidates. For the first time, none of the students dropped out of the process in the technical stage, and women represented 60% of the successful candidates.
