Experian's Venture Capital (VC) arm in Brazil plans investments in startups to act as a catalyst for the development of high-value markets
Serasa Experian announces investment in TRAIVE, agfintech specialized in agricultural credit. The objective is to promote access to credit for small and medium producers, through technology, data and people and, with this, improve the investment scenario in one of the most powerful sectors in Brazil. This is the second contribution that Experian makes in Latin America, through the Experience Ventures, your arm of Venture Capital (VC). In this round, Experian Ventures joined other investors Series A including Astella Investimentos, Minerva Ventures, SP Ventures, Syngenta Ventures and Tiger Global.
The investment in TRAIVE will foster the connection between Serasa Experian's business units and the innovations that the startup is bringing to the market. This move meets Serasa Experian's goal of transforming the current fragmented vision of agribusiness into complete information so that lenders can assess risks more broadly and leverage access to credit for rural producers. In other words, making agricultural credit as relevant as commercial credit.
"Inorganic growth is part of Experian's strategy, so we are always looking for new investment opportunities in the country, in line with our innovation environment, to expand the company's positive impact on the market," says the president of Serasa Experian, Valdemir Bertolo. "Making investments in local startups, through our arm of Venture Capital, allows us to study and learn more in depth high-value markets in which we want to act as a development catalyst, establishing partnerships to accelerate the ecosystem and internal initiatives, rather than acting as a player traditional”, completes Bertolo.
In addition to agribusiness, Serasa Experian has been intensifying its operations in the segments of financial services to consumers, fraud prevention and identity management through a roadmap of partnerships, acquisitions and investments in innovative organizations.
