Trend Micro Brazil, a world reference in cybersecurity solutions, has noticed, in recent months, a rush of companies for compliance and data protection due to the beginning of the LGPD (General Data Protection Law) – and the threat of charging for fines. As of August 1st, penalties for those who do not comply with the law start at 2% of the last fiscal year's revenue, and may reach up to R$ 50 million. That's not to mention the risk of other financial and reputational losses from a possible data leak, increasing the anxiety of both leaders and technical teams at companies across all industries.

According to a Gartner survey, by 2023, 65% of the world's population is expected to have their information covered by modern privacy regulations. It also points out that privacy is becoming one of the reasons for consumers to buy a product, as are the “organic” and “sustainable” labels.

“Although many see the LGPD as an impediment, it shouldn't be thought of that way. In fact, it came to change the way we treat the culture of information security, taking care of and protecting the data we hold and shielding us from intruders”, comments the technical director of Trend Micro Brasil, Franzvitor Fiorim.

Because numerous institutions store and use customer data, the LGPD is a law that has far-reaching implications beyond diverse stakeholders. Its main objective is to establish the rights of data subjects, as well as to determine which rules and procedures businesses and companies must follow from the moment of data collection and during the entire period in which they are in their possession.

With the intention of helping organizations to overcome this challenge, the Trend Micro has compiled a stock compilation targeted with layered security strategy at the user level (User Protection), network (Network Defense) and hybrid cloud (Hybrid Cloud Security), which can now be taken.

Security solutions need to be modeled to be able to protect different types of environments, such as physical, virtual and cloud, providing synergy between security and DevOps teams and using a tool that can consolidate and collaborate with security and compliance requirements .
