System reduced the amount of information that must be declared, benefiting around 6 million employers in the country
As of this Monday, the 19th, the more than 6 million users of eSocial will notice that the system is easier to use. The solution developed by Serpro for the Ministry of Economy received a new layout, with the objective of facilitating the sending of information by employers. It is the newest phase of eSocial, a Federal Government project that seeks to digitize and unify the sending of tax, social security and labor information from Brazilian companies to around 6 million employers and 40 million employees.
“The simplified eSocial has reduced the amount of information that must be sent by users, with a decrease in the number of events and fields required in the form. We also exclude duplicate registration information, that is, information that is already available in other databases”, explains Arnaldo Santana, manager of the Business Department, Solutions for Tax Bookkeeping, Labor and the Serpro Guarantee Fund.
In addition to updating the eSocial web solutions, which serve domestic employers and companies in general, the web services and mobile application were also updated. “This was only possible thanks to the efforts of the various teams responsible for eSocial. Even in remote work, we are able to work in harmony with the areas involved, guaranteeing Brazilian society the benefits of reducing bureaucracy, simplification and efficiency”, says Eduardo Maris, manager of Serpro's Digital Tax and Labor Bookkeeping Department.
Evolution of eSocial
eSocial became mandatory since 2018 and its implementation is based on a calendar, which includes several steps. Also in 2018, the solution was first adopted by companies that had annual revenues above R$ 78 million. Initially, they should only send employer records and tables. The last phase of this so-called “Group 1”, which should take place next October, will be the submission of occupational safety and health (OSH) data.
Subsequently, the phases of “Group 2” companies began, those with revenues, in 2016, of up to R$ 78 million and not opting for Simples Nacional. In 2019, it was the turn of the “Group 3” companies, which include those opting for Simples Nacional, individual employers, rural producers and non-profit entities.
A final group, comprising federal public entities and agencies, will join eSocial next Wednesday, the 21st. “Even before concluding the implementations for the month of July, the technical teams are already working on the next challenge for eSocial, which is the use of the system by public bodies. In order to guarantee the stability of the service, technical activities were initiated to review the service architecture and technological update of the infrastructure allocated to the system”, emphasizes the manager of the Bookkeeping Solutions Business Division of Folha Digital das Empresas do Serpro, Leonardo David Rocha.
According to Eduardo Maris, the implementation of “Group 3” of eSocial was especially important. “We face a great challenge, since this group represents a large volume of companies: there are more than 3 million employers and approximately 15 million workers”, evaluates the manager.
Functionalities
System users have integration services with corporate management software; web portals for access by companies and citizens; mobile application to bring mobility to employee management; chatbot to respond to inquiries from domestic employers; data lake to enable the consumption of eSocial data; and download service to enable companies/employers to retrieve information sent to eSocial.
