With the partnership, Ingram Micro resellers will solve their customers' data protection problems by offering robust and reliable solutions, common only in large companies; Overland-Tandberg will also customize home office solutions
Ingram Micro Brasil has just closed an agreement with Overland-Tandberg and will become a distributor of data management, backup and archiving solutions through a hybrid or local cloud from one of the most important global companies in the sector.
With the partnership, Ingram Micro resellers will be able to serve their customers, especially small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) with low-investment, easy-to-manage data protection and storage solutions. Overland-Tandberg will also customize home office solutions, so that the Ingram Micro partner can offer a complete “turn key” solution with all the elements of software, hardware and services for its customers, in addition to having the already traditional model of cross selling adopted by the distributor among synergistic brands.
“We will help SMEs that want to have a virtualized computing environment to have access to all the robustness and reliability of backup and archiving solutions aimed at large corporations“, Says Roberto Gero, director of products and Advanced Computing at Ingram Micro. Ingram Micro will also provide IT infrastructure solutions from Overland-Tandberg.
According to Marcelo Sequeira de Oliveira, Country Manager at Overland-Tandberg, as well as in the USA, also in Brazil small and medium-sized companies are the fastest growing sector for new jobs. "Today, SMEs account for 60% of jobs and 50% of national added value. Business data is as critical for SMEs as it is for large companies, but they typically lack the technical staff and IT equipment that larger companies can afford. And an SME is more likely to close its doors if it cannot recover quickly from data loss due to natural disasters, human error or ransomware.“, He evaluates. Therefore, the country manager continues, “we designed and built the RDX QuikStation removable disk storage system specifically for SMEs and their challenges. RDX QuikStation is economical, simple to set up and manage, and expands quickly as an SME's data requirements increase“".
The RDX product line is considered a major differential in the world market. Solutions like the Tape Library Overland-Tandberg NEOXL 80, for example, are based on the LTO platform, have scalable capacity and storage from 2.4PB to 16.8PB and performance of 16.2TB / Hr. at 113.4TB / hour. Overland-Tandberg's focus is on tape backup technology, which allows it to work with other manufacturers without competing on the same project. In Gero's assessment, the partnership comes at a time of consolidation of the hybrid model in the labor market, where storage in the cloud together with the location is even more essential. "The hybrid cloud will be the key to the new data protection and storage scenario of the post-pandemic world, where data is stored locally or in the cloud, but requires its instant restoration and access via mobile devices“".
For Overland-Tandberg's country manager, the partnership with Ingram Micro is part of the company's worldwide expansion strategy. "Having a distribution partner with a solid reputation in the channel such as Ingram Micro, in addition to extensive capacity and knowledge in IT infrastructure products in the market, will certainly accelerate our reach in Brazil", ends.
