
Katia Vaskys was appointed General Manager of IBM Brazil
IBM announced that Katia Vaskys has been appointed General Manager of IBM Brazil. Katia will be responsible for developing the company's strategy in the country, helping to accelerate the digital transformation of customers and partners with open hybrid cloud and artificial intelligence.
With the appointment, Katia Vaskys becomes the first woman to lead the IBM operation in Brazil.

Katia Vaskys has more than 25 years of technical and business experience in the Information Technology industry. Since joining IBM in 2010, Katia has been responsible for creating the Business Analytics & Optimization practice at the Global Business Services unit, in addition to leading the Smarter Analytics portfolio. Recently, she served as the main executive for industry accounts at IBM Brasil, coordinating technical and sales teams, and is executive sponsor of the Diversity & Inclusion team.
Previously, Katia was CEO of Teradata Brasil and held technical positions in consulting and systems architecture at companies such as Oracle, SAP and Siebel Systems. The executive has a degree in social communication, a post-graduate degree in Business Analysis and Information Systems and has a degree in Executive Leadership from Columbia Business School.
Katia succeeds Tonny Martins, who was appointed General Manager for IBM Latin America in October 2020.
