The program opens doors for startups not only from the state of São Paulo, but from all over Brazil. Startups linked to various economic activities that depend on marine, coastal, and inland waters can participate, such as fishing and aquaculture; leisure and nautical tourism; transportation and logistics; gastronomy, crafts, and water culture; renewable energy from hydropower; biotechnology and marine bioeconomy; environmental services and conservation; and circular economy and waste utilization.

To participate, the products and/or services must be the core business of these startups. "Spin-offs" will not be considered. Furthermore, the product must be validated, prepared to generate sales growth, and the minimum average revenue must be R$ 5,000 per month over the last six months. There is also a requirement that the founder work full-time at the startup, with at least one other partner and/or team member with complementary skills.

Speed Marine offers a range of benefits to participating startups, such as personalized diagnosis and follow-up with expert mentors; workshops with market leaders; fast-tracking with sales and investment programs and free allocation of up to two commercial resources; free exposure at trade shows and missions; participation in forums and meetups on the North Coast, the Santos region and the South Coast; as well as connections with major institutions, companies and players in the innovation ecosystem and the Blue Economy.

According to Alexandre Canova, a business consultant at Sebrae-SP, Speed Marine is a strategic initiative to unlock the potential of the Blue Economy in Brazil. “The program connects startups directly with real demands of the maritime sector, offers highly specialized acceleration, and also facilitates access to partners and capital, something essential in an intensive and regulated market; in practice, this reduces risks, accelerates the validation of solutions, and significantly increases the chances of these startups being able to scale and compete in a sector that is increasingly relevant globally,” he comments.

Applications for Speed Marine are open until April 23rd. The startups selected for the judging panel will be announced on April 24th. The judging panel will be held on May 6th, and the results will be announced on May 8th. Also in May, events such as the National Blue Economy Forum and SP Ocean Week will take place, with the acceleration program scheduled to begin on June 10th. In the second half of 2026, further events and technical visits will be held in São José dos Campos, Vale do Ribeira, and the North Coast, in addition to the Entrepreneur Fair in São Paulo and the year-end event at Colabora Mundo in Santos.

Offered by Sebrae-SP through Sebrae for Startups, Speed Marine is carried out in partnership with the Port of Santos, PIT, UNESP, Ilhahub, Hub Brasil Export, among other partners.
