The award will recognize initiatives that promote technological solutions for the government sector. Startups and public agencies can register until April 20th.

Released in the 2025 edition of GovTech Summit, The GovTech Summit 2026 Award will recognize initiatives that are generating a positive impact on public management. Registration opened on March 10th and closes on [date missing]. April 20, 2026. This year, the goal is to strengthen the innovation ecosystem and inspire other players to create new solutions. The winning case studies will be recognized and presented during the event, which will take place on June 2nd and 3rd, 2026, at the PUCRS Events Center in Porto Alegre/RS.

The award reinforces the GovTech Summit's commitment to fostering smarter, more future-ready governments, strengthening the innovation ecosystem, and recognizing initiatives of excellence in resilience. The initiative was developed in partnership with Exxas, a leader in accelerating the development of cities and innovation ecosystems, working on initiatives that strengthen governance, connect strategic actors from the public, private, academic, and civil society sectors, and drive innovation in a structured and efficient way.

“This award stems from the understanding that public innovation doesn't happen on its own, but rather when public initiatives decide to move beyond the ordinary and place the citizen at the center of decision-making. The same occurs when a startup chooses to overcome institutional challenges and solve real government problems. This award is, above all, a symbol of convergence. It represents the meeting between the State and the market with a common goal: to improve people's lives,” says Téo Foresti Girardi, head of the GovTech Summit and specialist with a PhD in Design and Technologies.

Startups and public bodies, managers or consortia leading projects that promote innovation through the use of technology in public administration are eligible to compete for the award in the following categories: Startup or Public Initiative. Criteria such as originality and innovation; social, environmental, and economic impact; feasibility and scalability of the solution; relevance to the public problem; and proven results will be evaluated.

With a practical, diverse agenda connected to the real challenges of public administration, the event is establishing itself as one of the main gatherings for those who wish to understand, influence, and accelerate the future of government.

The GovTech Summit is one of the initiatives of the GovTech Lab hub, a government transformation project. The event is conceived by Moove – the first agency in Brazil with the GovTech seal, certified by BrazilLab.
