The agreement provides for the distribution and sale of intelligent battery systems (BESS – Battery Energy Storage Systems) in the country, to serve commercial, industrial, rural and large-scale clients.

Huawei, a global technology leader, and Powersafe, a national leader in energy storage solutions, have just signed a distribution agreement for the commercialization of energy storage systems, called BESS (Build-Storage Energy Storage Systems).Battery Energy Storage Systems) in the Brazilian market.

The proposal behind the agreement is to expand the portfolio of smart energy solutions in Brazil, based on new battery technologies to increase security in the electrical system and meet the demands of residential, commercial, industrial, rural, and large-scale projects. The partnership combines Huawei's technical reach and global innovation capacity with Powersafe's deep market knowledge and local production infrastructure.

Together, the companies are positioned to meet the growing demands for energy storage solutions in Brazil, especially due to the need for greater integration of renewable sources into the Brazilian energy matrix, increased reliability and energy resilience in industrial and commercial environments, and the growth of distributed generation projects with a demand for intelligent storage.

Companies are also eyeing the advent of new business models in Brazil, including... BESS as a Service, This allows access to storage solutions without a full initial investment. With Powersafe distributing Huawei's BESS equipment, the goal is to leverage the adoption of these solutions in Brazil, offering cutting-edge global technology with local support, applied engineering, and after-sales services fully aligned with the needs of Brazilian customers.

In practice, the strategic alliance goes beyond the simple commercialization of products and will focus on building a sustainable ecosystem that allows customers to reduce operational and tariff costs through intelligent consumption management and greater energy autonomy, especially in regions with grid stability challenges, as well as contributing to decarbonization goals aligned with the corporate and global environmental agenda.

For André Ribeiro, national executive of Renewable Operations at Powersafe, the partnership comes at a crucial moment of transformation in the electricity sector. “Brazil is rapidly expanding its installed energy storage capacity. Innovative projects have demonstrated that systems of…” BESS "They can improve the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of the national energy matrix," he comments.

According to Simon Tsui, CEO of Huawei Brazil, battery storage will play a central role in modernizing the country's energy infrastructure and transitioning to renewable sources, consolidating systems that previously depended almost exclusively on the traditional electricity grid. "With global technology and a consolidated local presence, the alliance promises to be a competitive differentiator for large energy projects, contributing directly to the objectives of sustainability, energy transition, resilience, and modernization of the Brazilian electricity sector," he adds.

According to Bruno Monteiro, CSO of HDT, the advancement of storage solutions is essential for the evolution of the Brazilian electricity sector. "The growth of BESS (Brazilian Energy Storage System) accompanies the expansion of renewable sources and the need for greater security and flexibility in the electricity grid, making storage a strategic component for the future of the energy matrix," he states.
