The program seeks to identify innovative solutions that contribute to generating positive impacts for the environment and society, supporting the sustainability goals of Ambev, PepsiCo, and ecosystem partners such as Ball and Valgroup.
Interested startups can register with projects aligned with one of the program's five priority themes: Sustainable Agriculture, Circular Packaging, Climate Change, Water Management and Productive Inclusion. The areas reflect strategic challenges in the supply chains of the participating companies.
Second Luiz Talarico, Head of Sustainability at Ambev, Collaboration with startups plays an important role in building solutions for complex challenges in the production chain.
“We want to identify initiatives with real potential for scaling and support their development. 100+ Labs Brazil promotes connections that accelerate innovation and broaden the socio-environmental impact of projects, contributing to a more sustainable future and strengthening the innovation ecosystem,” he states.
After the registration and interview stages, the selected startups participate in an immersion of about a month and a half, with experts from Ambev and the co-financiers interested in the pilot projects. During this period, the projects undergo technical and commercial refinement.
In the second phase, up to five startups advance to the implementation of paid pilot projects, conducted over four months within the ecosystems of the participating companies. For Isabela Malpighi, Vice President of Sustainability at PepsiCo for Latin America, the program helps to connect innovative technologies with the real demands of production chains. “The socio-environmental challenges of our region demand innovative solutions and collaborative action. We seek initiatives capable of generating a positive impact on a large scale and strengthening an innovation ecosystem that contributes to a more sustainable future in Brazil,” she emphasizes.
The selected startups receive financial support, individualized monitoring by Quintessa managers, and strategic support. In discussions about access to capital and scalability potential, participants also become part of the companies' innovation ecosystem throughout the process, with opportunities to test solutions in real-world operations and develop new partnerships.
One of the examples cited by the organizers is... Camel Water, a startup that participated in the 2021 edition. The company became a partner of AMMAN, a social product of Ambev, in a project focused on distributing drinking water to vulnerable communities. The initiative has already benefited more than 3 million people in different regions of the country.
